When are You Going to Learn that Holdem Poker is All About Seating!

I’ve been playing poker now for about 5 years, I have bet cards my entire life starting with games of Gin Rummy for pennies with my Grand Mother, to all of the various types of Brag and general random games such as Go Fish, Crash and one so beautifully called, card on head casino game. I used to often win, whatever game we were wagering and although I liked to call it skill, it was extremely hard to warrant thinking about the randomness of the games we were wagering, so I was happy to accept I was having a prolonged run of good fortune.

Then came Poker, or a lot more importantly Holdem Poker, made famous by a group of Texas card players in the 1960’s and since developed into one of the biggest card phenomena ever observed. Poker is absolutely the new black, it is uber cool with several of the world’s leading celebs racing to have their name associated with it. Just a quick flick through the TV channels nowadays and it is possible to not escape from poker, and of course there is the fabled World Series of Poker, the Holy Grail and Mecca all combined into one for every single gambler.

So with all of this new found recognition, with so many Television programmes devoted to poker, and magazine and book shelves loaded up with quality material written by the leading minds on poker, when are men and women going to understand that this game is all about position!?

Perhaps I need to not obtain so worked up about this, after all the a lot more people who struggle with the subtle techniques and strategies needed for winning consistently at Holdem, the far better it can be for everyone else, correct? I mean, if they can not be bothered to look at all of the readily available facts about why location is so essential, why really should we bother? We need to just be happy there’s another fish at the table!

It’s true, we really should not reward procrastination with guidance and aid. Nevertheless, I liken this to a helpful game of football. Granted the stakes aren’t so good, but when you see a player having difficulties, you help them, offer them a few advice, ultimately showing them a method to love, really like and be thankful for the game as much as you. I am calling on all house gamblers to do exactly the same thing with their poker buddies who haven’t quite got a handle on the nuances of betting position. Help them to grow their respect for the casino game. Certainly, don’t attempt to try this one in your community casino, the sharks will not appreciate you instructing their meal how to swim!
