Online Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
Gus Hansen experienced a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only one to make it to the final table in 3 of the events. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might remember one of the largest pots in big stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen raked in a large pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has earned many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest enthusiasts anywhere in the world. While playing net poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. He frequently participates in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus usually buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very poorly. He waits patiently for a good hand and then pushes all-in. I accept that Gus is an amazing poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is flat broke, he has little or no reason to sit at the game with the minimum buy in.
Buying in for the min takes a majority of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Hansen is supposed to be one of the best players in the world but he can’t buy-in for the total dollar value. I believe television can alter our perception of the real world at times. The greatest poker players anywhere in the world might just be players you have will not have heard about. Gus can be seen participating in online poker on Full Tilt. He commonly plays in big stakes omaha hold’em and texas hold’em. Gus has shown himself as a competition player. Can he back up his skills in money rounds?
