NL Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker competitor on the globe by quite a few of the top pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandfather taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wished to learn anything he possibly could about the game. Phil would tell his elders that he was going to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the adverse feedback from others annihilate his dream of becoming one of the greatest poker competitors in the world.
He began competing intently after acquiring a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his game at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a learning opportunity and winning was not a normal thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved two final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he destroyed many of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his success to hard work and an eternal passion for poker. Phil says that he’s picking up skills every single day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making blunders every single game of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Even though Phil has come first in some large tournaments, he favors winning money games on a normal basis.
